Facebook collects tremendous amounts of user data in order to serve us with advertisements. Another data Facebook collects is a users location. You may have wondered how to find someone’s location on messenger.
Facebook is a social networking site that makes it easy for you to connect and share with family and friends online. Originally designed for college students, Facebook was created in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg while he was enrolled at Harvard University. By 2006, anyone over the age of 13 with a valid email address could join Facebook. Today, Facebook is the world’s largest social network, with more than 1 billion users worldwide.

#3. Messenger will then ask you to grant it permission to use their smartphone’s GPS. Click “Allow.”
#4. A map will then pop up, showing their location. Make them click “Start Sharing Your Location.”
Facebook App (Nearby Friends)

#2. Scroll down and click the “See More” option.
#3. A dropdown menu will show. Select “Nearby Friends.”
#4. You will then be taken to a page where you can specify who can see your location. You can, for example, choose to share your information with all of your friends or just a few.
Using A Third-Party Service
This method requires the most work, but it’s also the most accurate way of tracking someone’s location. Once the other person clicks your link, you’ll be able to see their live location anytime you want.
For this technique to work, you need to go to a third-party website, such as IPLogger. This is a free website that tells you the location of any IP address that clicks it.
#1. Go to IPLogger’s website.
#2. Pick one of its tracking options to suit your needs. For this tutorial, let’s go with URL & Image Shortener.
#3. Enter any type of URL you like, as the website is not really what’s important but who will tap it. For this tutorial, type “Facebook.com” and click “Shorten.”
#4. Allow permissions in order to continue. Click, “Next.”
#5. You will then be redirected to a page that shows the statistics of your impromptu website.
#6. The only thing to do now is to convince the other person to tap on the shortened link that you created.
#7. If they click the link, their IP address will automatically be logged. By looking at the link’s statistics, you can now see the location of the other person.
Websites like IPLogger are commonly used to provide information about the performance of your website. However, you can use it to your advantage by seeing the location of your target.
