Iron Man’s heir will be introduced in the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

New young superhero debuts in Black Panther 2

Marvel Studios like to mystery when to introduce certain new characters to the movie universe. Now, however, the president of the studio himself, Kevin Feige, has revealed that Ironheart, or Iron Heart, will appear in the sequel to the Black Panther on July 8, 2022. The character was created in 2016 by comedian Brian Michael Bendis and draftsman Mike Deodato, and a Disney + series is also in the spotlight. Still, it will only arrive after Black Panther 2.

Feige spoke to a ComicBook.com reporter about the legend of Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings and said that Dominique Thorne, who played Riri Williams, or Ironheart, had joined the cast of the Black Panther. “We’re shooting the Black Panther: Wakanda, Be Blessed! Right now, and you’ll meet Riri Williams’ character for the first time in this film. [Thorne] started work, I think this week, before filming the series.”

Riri Williams is a teenage inventor who lives in Chicago with her mother and aunt after her father’s death in the comics. At 15, she was admitted to the prestigious MIT (Massachusetts University of Technology). This is where he begins to develop his armour-like Iron Man. After capturing two prison fugitives, Tony Stark visits him and gives him the blessing of becoming a superhero from Riri, plus he can use the artificial intelligence developed by Stark.

So far, we’ve met Dominique Thorne, who plays Ironheart / Iron Heart, in Barry Jenkins ’2018 play If You Could Tell the Story of Beale Street, as well as in the Oscar-nominated Judas and Black Messiah presented last year. In Black Panther 2, he works with writer-director Ryan Coogler, who also directed the first part, and who reworked the script thoroughly after the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman. Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o and Martin Freeman are also expected to return to their roles.

Ironheart is the shaper of Judas and the Black Messiah.
