The lower house is besieged by the Vivo Y02 running Android Go

Since the world does not only belong to flagship devices, it is worth reporting on entry-level smartphones as well. Although it is not yet known whether the Vivo Y02 will be released in the European region, it might not be a disadvantage to know what configuration the Chinese manufacturer envisions for its phones positioned in the cheapest segment. At first glance, the mobile phone running the Android Go system does not look terrible, although we could forget that micro USB connector…

Inside the smartphone is an unnamed 8-core processor, to which 3 GB of RAM is added during assembly, and the storage capacity is 32 GB, fortunately the latter can be expanded with a micro SD card with a capacity of up to 1 TB. Vivo’s device runs the Funtouch OS 12 system based on Android 12 Go Edition after the very first switch on.

The display of the Y02 is a 6.51-inch, simple liquid crystal solution that displays content in HD+ resolution. In the upper part of the panel, we can pay attention to the drop-shaped sensor island, where the front 5 megapixel camera is located.

There is also a single lone image recorder on the back, only one LED flash was installed under the 8 megapixel module. The device is said to be only 8.49 mm thick and has a 2.5Ds flat frame with a matte design. Regarding the back cover and the frame, the Chinese manufacturer claims that it is protected from scratches and fingerprints.

A 5,000 mAh battery was squeezed inside the smartphone, which inexplicably and annoyingly still charges via a micro USB port at a maximum speed of 10 watts. There is no fingerprint reader, but there is a headphone output.

Vivo Y02 is sold in orchid blue and cosmic gray shades, and is already offered by an Indonesian distributor, with whom the mobile costs only 90 euros in local currency. So far, there has been no mention of whether the device will be available in other regions, it is not impossible at all, but we would not bet on it.
