What virus attacks can we expect in 2022?

Virus and hacker attacks will not be missed in the new year either. Experts at cybersecurity AG Data say cybercriminals are deploying artificial intelligence and multi-blackmail virus attacks to achieve their goal. Trying Android applications on Windows will provide a new surface attack.

The vast majority of cyber-attacks will be launched in 2022 by organized groups that will share responsibilities for preparing, programming, and carrying out the attack. Experts at AG Data point out that more and more highly advanced and legitimate tools are available to attackers. For example, programming with Codex: an artificial intelligence-based tool compiles commands issued in ordinary language into code, reducing the risk of errors and creating new malware faster. In addition, new programming languages, such as Kotlin or Swift, can be used by attackers, making it harder to detect malware because they are not yet supported by tools used for analysis in virus laboratories.

However, G Data said that existing threats are also evolving in a statement. In multi-blackmail virus attacks, criminals combine several means of attack. For example, data is stolen from companies, data on the network is encrypted, compounded by an overload (DDoS) attack. Finally, the attacked company and its customers are blackmailed into disclosing the stolen confidential data.

According to AG Data, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are of interest to criminals because they typically do not have the same protection as large companies, yet they are often connected to their IT systems.

In addition to companies, networked products, such as vehicles, game consoles, kitchens, or networked industrial equipment, are an attractive target for criminals, and critical infrastructure operators remain a target.

Big fan of the video game and Tech Industry, I also consider myself quite a techie, so I always try to be up to date on all technical information.
