You can try out Diablo 2: Resurrected before the Release Date

You don't have to wait until autumn

Blizzard is now being caught in the midst of a scandal over sexual harassment, and other misfortunes that we hope won’t affect the quality of Diablo 2: Resurrected because after WarCraft 3: Reforged, we expect a much better-refurbished version of the other evergreen classic. The re-tuned release of Dio 2, which also features gameplay changes, will arrive in September this year, but before that, we can see if we need it, as Blizzard will hold an open beta test.

The studio has announced on its official website that the beta test will start on August 20th at 7 pm in our time zone. Those who pre-order the game or the release of Diablo: Prime Evil Collection can already plunge into demon extermination a week earlier, that is, from 7 pm on August 13th. Beta tests will take place on all platforms except the Nintendo Switch, meaning we can try the refurbished version of the Dio 2 on PC, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

The test phase covers the entire weekend, and pre-loading of the game client can already begin on August 11th and August 18th, respectively. More specifically, the latter applies to PCs, with consoles able to pre-load as early as August 17th. The open beta can be played by anyone who has a suitable machine for it. On Xbox and PlayStations, this will not require the basic Gold plus subscriptions required for online play (Gold is only required during the Early Acces period). However, it is important to note that the latter is essential for the full version if you also want to multiply with Resurrected. Anyway, the Early Access beta will run exactly until the evening of August 17th, and the open beta will last until the evening of August 23rd.

During the beta test, 5 out of 7 character classes will be available for the time being: Amazon, Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid and Paladin. The Assassin and the Necromancer will be tried in their full version. The open beta of the story only includes Act 1 and Act 2, so we can play through the first two chapters of the base game, which is roughly 5-6 hours for pros. The good news is that those who took the Early Access test can also transfer their characters to open beta.
