It started to spread that 90-second commercials are coming to YouTube. What is true about this?

In recent days, complaints have started to accumulate that YouTube is testing 90-second, non-skippable commercials for videos streamed on TV. This is a significant, three-fold increase compared to the previous 30-second limit, which the platform started introducing last year.
Now YouTube has also spoken out on the matter, but this only made the confusion even bigger. The platform wrote under an X post about the long advertising block that there is currently no 90-second advertising break on the platform. They don’t even test anything like that at the moment. At the same time, they promised to investigate the case more closely.

THE 9to5Google points out: several users posted about the 90-second ad breaks, but their accounts are often quite similar. So it cannot be ruled out that it is a fake news campaign. This is also confirmed by the fact that the screenshots they share are often the same.
One thing is certain: the introduction of one and a half minute, unskippable commercial breaks on YouTube is not currently on the agenda.
