Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger also shut down – (Updated: Facebook responded)

Facebook responded to the shutdown on Twitter. The company writes they are already working to fix the error and apologizes for the inconvenience caused.

According to Down Detector, the shutdown started around half past six, with reports that none of Facebook’s services are working. Most of the problems were reported with the Facebook website, but the app doesn’t work either. You cannot send or receive messages at this time.

Although there is no official information yet, the Verge says Slack suffered a severe cyberattack last week. Then an error message similar to the service was unavailable, as it is now on Facebook, Instagram, and others. The shutdown also extended to Facebook’s virtual reality division, Oculus, according to the paper.
