Razer Introduces New Line of Blade Laptops

CES 2022. Razer has unveiled its new line of Razer Blade laptops in Las Vegas. They are three high-end models with different screen sizes to meet the needs of gamers or creators and with the potential to replace desktop computers as a single machine.

As expected, Razer puts all the meat on the grill in a gaming laptop segment where good equipment abounds, and the big manufacturers in part such as ASUS, MSI, or Alienware take special care. For the occasion, the new Razer Blades incorporate the latest Intel and AMD processors for laptops; new mobile graphics from NVIDIA; high definition displays; advanced connectivity; new standards such as DDR5 memory; Windows 11 as standard and chassis that add attractiveness and quality as is the brand’s standard.

Razer Blade 14

‘Small, but tough’ is one of the industry’s highest-powered gaming ultraportables and will continue to do so with the manufacturer’s arsenal. Razer continues to trust AMD and mounts the new Ryzen 6000 processors presented at CES and specifically the Ryzen 9 6900HX with eight cores, 16 threads, a maximum frequency of 4.9 GHz, and 20 Mbytes of cache.

For the graphics section, although the CPU includes a Radeon 680M for primary uses, Razer bets on the new graphics up to the RTX 3080 Ti with 16 Gbytes of GDDR6 memory, the most powerful that can be mounted on a laptop and with the arsenal of technologies of NVIDIA: the fourth generation of Max-Q technology, CPU Optimizer, Rapid Core Scaling and Battery Boost 2.0. 16 Gbytes of DDR5 memory and PCI Gen4 solid-state drives up to 2 Tbytes complete the internal hardware section

The screen is the well-known 14-inch IPS, with optional panels such as an FHD with a 144 Hz refresh rate or a 2K with a 165 Hz refresh rate and support for 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Both panels are individually calibrated at the factory and support AMD FreeSync Premium Image Synchronization Technology.

It has two USB 3.2 Type-A ports and two other Type C ports, one of them for charging the 62 WHr battery and Display Port 1.4 support. It also has HDMI output and a Kensington lock slot. There is no shortage of the latest connectivity elements such as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, FHD webcam with Windows Hello support, stereo speakers, and THX support.

Razer Blade 15

The intermediate model of the series mounts a 15.6-inch IPS screen with panels to choose between a 360 Hz refresh rate FHD or a 240 Hz QHD. They have a matte coating, bezels of only 4.9 on the sides, support for 100% of the sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts, respectively. They support G-SYNC synchronization technology and feature Optimus mode for switching between integrated and dedicated graphics.

Its processor is also a premiere, the 12th generation of the Alder Lake for laptops presented by Intel in Las Vegas and specifically a Core i7-12800H with 14 cores, complemented by 16 Gbytes of DDR5 memory and dual PCI Gen4 solid-state drives. Like the other models, it equips dedicated graphics series RTX 30 from NVIDIA.

As for connectivity, it mounts a Killer network card for Wi-Fi 6E, in addition to Bluetooth 5.2, FHD webcam with Windows Hello support, stereo speakers, and THX support. There is no lack of a good number of ports, three USB 3.2 Type-A, and another Type C, in addition to Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and another to power an 80 WHr battery.

Razer Blade 17

The largest in size of the series, it is perfectly prepared to replace a desktop with its massive 17.3-inch screen, with panels to choose between a 360 Hz refresh rate FHD and two 165 or 240 Hz QHDs update frequencies.

Its processor is a Core i7-12800H with 14 cores from Intel’s twelfth generation Core, accompanied by 16 Gbytes of 4800 MHz DDR5 memory and 4 Tbyte PCI Gen4 solid-state drives. The graphics section equips up to the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, one of the new dedicated graphics for laptops presented by NVIDIA at the Las Vegas fair.

Its size allows it to mount a large number of ports, three USB 3.2 Type-A and another two Type C with support for Thunderbolt 4, in addition to HDMI 2.1, memory card reader, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and Ethernet LAN 2.5 Gb To highlight the eight speakers that it installs, a record that should come in handy in the multimedia and games section.

Razer Blade 2022, price and availability

The new Razer Blades are uniquely designed from a CNC milled aluminum chassis. Its keyboard has been redesigned with slightly larger keys, making the typing experience more ergonomic than ever. This revised design includes state-of-the-art speakers, a hinge design with a slimmer profile, and extra ventilation with rubber feet to create the best vents.

They pre-install Windows 11 as standard and its functions such as DirectStorage, Xbox GameBar, and Xbox Game Pass. The keyboards on these 3 Razer Blade models feature Razer Chroma RGB technology, immersive audio with a 360º soundscape when listening to movies, music, or video games, with THX-certified THX Spatial Audio through any analog headset or the speakers.

• The Razer Blade 14 has a starting price of 2,491 dollars. It will be available for pre-order through Razer.com, the Razer Store stores, and selected retailers starting February 10 and for direct purchase in stores during the first quarter of 2022.
