Mysterious updates came from Apple

Most of the updates released by Apple bring fairly clear changes, be it security or new features. The company also regularly updates its own applications, but now something very unusual is happening with some apps: Apple updates them without having developed them.
For the interesting MacRumors noticed in the change logs of several applications. They state that the available update was issued by Apple, not the app/game developer. This does not give the app new capabilities, Apple only improves its functions in some undisclosed way.
Candy Crush Soda Saga, Sentry Mobile, Catan Universe, Bluetti, Mortal Kombat, Duet Display, VLC and many other apps also got this update. As MacRumors notes, it’s unclear what, if any, features Apple will improve with the updates. A developer on Reddit wrote about itthat Apple did not update the version number of the updated app either, it remained the same.

It can’t even be said that applications that were updated a long time ago were made compatible with the new devices, since there are also apps updated by Apple for which the developer regularly releases a new version.
MacRumors scrutinized the code of one of the apps updated in this way, but the portal found no trace of any changes. It seems to remain a mystery why Apple released updates for these apps.
