PlayStation 5: Sony launches its official side covers
Without surprise in between, and after suing the first to launch the first side covers of PlayStation 5 with different colors, now it is Sony itself that announces the official covers (or covers) of its console, and obviously, official means paying a higher price than any third-party manufactured cap.
There is little to comment, except that we have the color blue, pink, light blue, red, and black to choose from, all with the original design of the console, and that is why third-party manufacturers will offer their designs to prevent Sony from suing them (after patenting the invention of the side covers).
On the other hand, the company also announced new colors for its controls, which match the covers of the console to have the complete pack:
Today we are pleased to introduce the new colors joining the PlayStation 5 color accessory range: Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple. In addition to joining the previously released Cosmic Red and Midnight Black colors for the DualSense Wireless Controller, these new galaxy-inspired colors will be available worldwide from January 2022 at participating retailers.
The new colors of the DualSense Wireless Controller will be available next month, as will the new PlayStation 5 console covers. We also introduce the new PS5 console covers that match all the galaxy-inspired colors of the DualSense Wireless Controller: Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple.
These new covers are attractive and easy to use, as you have to remove the white cap from the PlayStation 5 (PS5) console and fit the new one. PS5 console covers will be available for both PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc drive and PS5 digital edition and are sold separately from the PS5 console and DualSense controller.
PlayStation 5 Midnight Black and Cosmic Red console covers will be available from January 2022 at participating retailers in the following countries: US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, and the Philippines. The PS5 Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, and Starlight Blue console covers will be available in these countries throughout the first half of 2022. We plan to launch the PS5 console covers in more territories throughout the year, so we will announce any information on this when available.
The exact release date of the new DualSense wireless controller colors and new PS5 console covers in certain regions may vary by location; ask your local dealer for availability.
