Samsung has released a new app that makes its latest smartwatches suitable for two-way voice communication.
In August, the world got to know Samsung’s premium smartwatches for 2021, the Galaxy Watch4 and the Watch4 Classic. Before the official announcement, there were rumors that the manufacturer was also working on a walkie-talkie feature. Now it turns out that this information was not received from the air.
Samsung has released an app that makes these smartwatches suitable for two-way voice communication, in other words, making walkie-talkies out of them. The new app can only be used for communication between wearable devices and is only compatible with these two models, so smartwatches running Tizen are not allowed to use it.
The Walkie Talkie app allows instant chat with contacts (if they have a smartwatch like that). You can also create channels that can have multiple contacts at the same time. The 23MB app can be downloaded directly from the Google Play store, but you’re going to need a Samsung account to use it.
