Avast was identified in these programs are the days submitted for a fictitious campaign worldwide. The campaign ran as UltimaSMS, and it primarily included applications that register the user for paid (monthly) services – but often in a way that the person doesn’t even know about. In this case, the money is debited to the account via paid SMS.
According to Avast, the malicious code for the campaign was embedded in the most common category of applications, with a total of 151 halves. These included an image editor and a QR code reader. This was necessary so that nothing in the user would arouse suspicion.
