Due to multitasking, iPadOS 16 could be delayed until October

Even though the iOS and iPad versions are designed for separate devices, Apple will shortly release the final version of its new operating system for both devices. But with this new edition, that might change. According to Bloomberg, Apple will have to postpone the release of iPadOS 16 since the new multitasking feature has received negative developer feedback.

The iPad will be able to run applications in multitasking thanks to this new function, called visual organizer, which was demonstrated at the previous WWDC. Apple demonstrated the ability to move between applications immediately and use overlapping windows to create a customized workspace. Even the window sizes can be changed. To work with the iPad, as Apple claims, consumers have been clamouring for this feature instead of a computer.

However, developers have given the iPadOS 16 beta releases that contain this new functionality unfavourable evaluations. As a result, Apple will have to improve the iPad version of its upcoming operating system, delaying its release by up to one month. This could coincide with the release of new iPads in October, which are anticipated to include, among other things, the iPad 2022 with a USB Type-C port and a new iPad Pro with Apple’s M2 chip. Along with iOS 16, Apple may also release the initial iteration of iPadOS 16; however, it will not have this functionality; it will be introduced in a subsequent update.
