Elon Musk has a new enemy now: Pigeons

The Internet test for Starlink satellites is not error-free: the plates required for reception are vegetated by pigeons based on the feedback. The company is interested in Elon Musk.

A trial test of a satellite Internet service called Starlink is in full swing, which has encountered unexpected phenomena in several places: the BBC reports that the receivers were planted on the receivers, so the reception was not perfect.

Starlink, an interest in Elon Musk, has been promising to launch a reasonably priced Internet service for a long time. Still, chip shortages and the coronavirus pandemic have hampered the process. In these weeks, however, several households (mainly American) can already use the new type of Internet (albeit only in beta), including a particular plate-shaped structure.

The latter is the antenna that communicates with hundreds of satellites in Earth’s orbit. However, similar to the plate, the unit appealed to pigeons and was integrated into several places, such as nests.

According to the BBC article, although the phenomenon was not suitable for the service, it was not extensive or significant. However, consumers have experienced an hour-long service outage in several places, but Starlink has not explained these cases.

The Internet from space, Musk promises, can provide download speeds of at least 300 Mbps, but that depends mainly on the location of the area. Customers who are already using it have measured download speeds of 150-200 Mbps and upload speeds of 10-20 Mbps
