According to The New York Times, the staff communication network has been taken down. Facebook has seen some of the most catastrophic outages in its history.
In addition to the social media site, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram all stopped down around 18:00, as previously reported.
Although Facebook stated that they were working to resolve the issue, it may take some time. According to the New York Times, the interruption impacted the company’s internal messaging technology.
Working conditions are also becoming more challenging. Employees are also not receiving external emails, claiming to be dragging down the repair effort. Engadget has attempted to contact the company but has yet to receive a response.
In March 2019, Facebook experienced its longest-ever outage, with its services being offline for days.
