According to the latest statistics, MediaTek processors still produce and sell the most in the mobile segment, and Qualcomm is a little behind in second place.
According to Counterpoint data, in the second quarter of 2021, 38% of mobile processors sold came from MediaTs, meaning that most new phones already have such chips. Qualcomm came in second with 32%, while Apple came third with 15%.
The top three players cover a significant part of the market, and the fourth-ranked Samsung Exynos chips have only a 7% share, followed by Unisoc (formerly Spreadtrum) with 5%. HiSilicon, Huawei’s own insert manufacturer, fell sharply, reaching only 3%, enough for sixth place.
In the first quarter, the same order was in place, MediaTek still led, but now they have improved their shares further.
