Design and Ports

The vivid designs found in MSI’s gaming line are absent from its Prestige series. This MSI Prestige 15 A12UD-049ES is intended for a very different demographic and calls for a much more covert design because it is targeted at professionals and workplaces.

The top centre of the keyboard includes a White LED backlighting that can be adjusted in three settings. Although their travel is relatively limited, the keys are a good size and lack a number pad. The trackpad is centred on the case and is a suitable size.

A tiny fingerprint sensor for logging into Windows 11 emerges in that trackpad’s upper left corner. Its operation is excellent, and it quickly and accurately identifies fingerprints.

Despite having a 16:9 format, the screen’s lowered margins make it so that the lower frame doesn’t stick out excessively. A 16:10 screen might have made better use of the available room.

In any event, the MSI Prestige 15 A12UD-049ES is a laptop with excellent productivity and without sacrificing, as we will see later, more than solvent performance, especially CPU, because of its relatively small size and weight of just 1.69 kg.

Screen

A 15.6-inch, 16:9, 4K screen with the Prestige 15’s resolution is included. Although, at a 1:1 scale, the interfaces appear too small, and you must rescale them, this resolution enables you to make the most of the screen by giving you more workspace.
