AMD intends to release a Ryzen 7000 series processor with a 170 W TDP.
AMD has announced new 4000 and 5000 series CPUs to round out its current Zen3 and Zen2 processor portfolio, but the new AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors are expected to be released in the third quarter of this year.
These CPUs were revealed at CES 2022 and will be the first AMD processors in the United States to use an LGA socket instead of a PGA socket. AMD will offer a reference with 16 cores and a TDP of 170W, according to a tweet from Greymon55.

With 16 cores and 32 threads, this arrangement is identical to the existing AMD Ryzen 9 5950x. However, this new AMD with socket AM5 will be recommended for usage with liquid cooling. AMD does not appear to be updating its core configuration in this generation; thus, we won’t see CPUs with 24 or 32 cores until at least 2023.
However, because of its hybrid core arrangement, the new Intel Raptor Lake that will be introduced with these Ryzen 7000 Series will have an increase in cores up to 24 cores and 32 execution threads.
