Rocket League Sideswipe released for Android and iOS
Epic’s long-awaited Rocket League Sideswipe mobile game is now available to anyone on Android and iOS.
Psyonix, who is behind the Rocket League, announced in March that a new, separate Rocket League experience specifically designed for mobile is planned later this year.
Following the announcement, the company has opened alpha and beta tests of the new game in certain regions, allowing selected users to try out the mobile address before it goes public. And now the game has officially been released worldwide.
Psyonix has announced in a tweet the global launch of Rocket League Sideswipe on iOS and Android. The novelty is free to play, but there are in-app purchases.
Rocket League Sideswipe follows the usual car football formula drawn from PC and console Rocket League, but instead of playing 3D, we get side-view, 2D matches.
There are options for 1v1 and 2v2 fights, either with friends or strangers from anywhere in the world. The game offers fast-paced, 2-minute battles. Rocket League Sideswipe is now available for download from the Google Play Store and the App Store on iOS.
The game is currently pre-season, so users can familiarize themselves with it and unlock various customization items. Season 1 details will be shared soon, according to Psynoix
