A new kind of laptop is coming to stores

The panel can transform what you see into three-dimensional ones without 3D glasses.

It only existed at the concept level for a few months but will soon be a product to buy. It’s an Acer unique laptop made in collaboration with SpatialLabs. The device’s main feature is that the screen can convert the content displayed to 3D without wearing any special glasses.

The Engadget writes that after the camera is an eye in the top frame of the workstation called Concept 7 SpatialLabs Edition, which adjusts the 3D image of the seated before him in respect. By the way, an image can be more than just a photo, but essentially anything – even video.

The basic idea behind the laptop was that artists, designers, and engineers could not look at the image with a second or third program or after rendering (that is, three-dimensional conversion) but immediately by looking at the laptop screen. And this experience will soon be available during home/work use, but of course not cheap: you will have to pay 3599 euros for it. Distribution is initially expected in only a few markets, but on those as early as December this year. And what else is worth that money?

Acer has put together an absolute beast: an 11th generation Core i7 chip will work under the hood, and the customer can request up to 64GB of RAM or a GeForce RTX 3080 graphics controller. The display is 4K at the factory.

  • Apple’s new processor is coming, and two kinds of MacBook Pros will be available

Apple’s new processor is coming, and two kinds of MacBook Pros will be available

Apple is rumored to have another premiere in October, featuring a high-end Mac mini. Apple narrowly unveiled the M1 processor a year ago, in November 2020, replacing Intel chips in the manufacturer’s computers.

    [ads1]

Shortly after the presentation, rumors started about another improved tile, the M1X, which has been heard about ever since. Most recently, when the iPhone 13 was unveiled, the news popped up that the Cupertino company would be holding another event in October.

Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman now writes that Apple is expected to pull a MacBook Pro with an M1X chip and a high-end Mac mini out of the hat.

The chip is said to have two versions, so in principle, we can expect two different types from the MacBook Pro. Both units would have ten cores, 8 of which would be high-performance, and two would be energy-efficient. The difference will be the graphics processor: 16 of its cores would work in one and 32 in the other.

Gurman, however, believes the M1X will not be a second-generation chip, just an improved version of the M1, with slightly better graphics performance.

  • You don’t necessarily have to spend a fortune on a good laptop

You don’t necessarily have to spend a fortune on a good laptop

Let’s start with an essential thing, i.e., the price: the product costs about $583, and with that, it is not located in the center field but rather winks towards the “economic” category.

Demand for chips and other components has skyrocketed over the past few years, and forced factory shutdowns due to the pandemic have also significantly slashed prices.

Based on its appearance, we might also think that this is a high-end notebook, as it has a modern, eye-catching look. It is extremely thin, only one and a half inches thick, the aluminum housing is pleasant to the touch, and no fingerprints are visible.

We had the pink-black version, which is specifically eye-catching but elegant but fits the ladies. However, there are also yellow and silver versions, the latter a bit more restrained, but in return also works better with men.

    Acer Swift 1

The hinges keep the thin coffee display stable, and when opened, lift the housing a few millimeters away from the “ground.” This makes cooling more efficient and typing more convenient. It has two USB-A and one USB-C, HDMI 1.4, and headphone-microphone outputs, so you can’t complain about the range of connectors. The memory card reader has been abandoned, but neglecting this has unfortunately been a fashion for years. It weighs 1.3 kilograms, so an engineer put a straightforward, comfortable portable machine on the table.

    Performance: restrained

Seeing the price tag, we suspected that the Swift 1 was not the stated power plant, which was confirmed after the first switch-on. The 8GB of RAM in this category isn’t bad, but the Intel Pentium Silver N5030 processor is undoubtedly a pretty outdated and weak piece. There is no dedicated video card, and the display is provided by the UHD Graphics 605 graphics adapter, which cannot work wonders.

It got a Full HD display with a bit of coffee.

Therefore, the device is virtually unsuitable for gaming, running 3D software, and generally more robust applications. It’s inappropriate for more complex image editing, and video editing can be forgotten.

ON THE OTHER HAND, IT CAN BE USED FOR GENERAL EVERYDAY USE, IE, WORD PROCESSING, OFFICE APPLICATIONS, CHAT, PRESENTATION MAKING, VIDEO RECORDING, FILMING, LISTENING TO MUSIC.

And many don’t need more than that. And the 512GB SSD provides enough storage capacity for tasks like this, so you can’t complain about the storage space. It’s an almost incredible luxury at this price level. The designers used passive cooling on this laptop, allowing perfectly silent operation. This is already a significant advantage, and the heat dissipation is well solved, as the product only weakens slightly during use.

The keyboard has an island layout, the size, pressure path, and resistance of the keys are adequate, so typing remains comfortable even after a long time. The backlight has not been spared either, the size of the mouse pad is sufficient, stable enough, so it can’t be connected to it either.

The keyboard and mouse are great.

A 48 Wh battery has been put into the machine, which would be little for a gamer machine, but it would happily do for such a relatively low power machine. Depending on usage, the operating time at 50 percent brightness has been around 8-11 hours, which is far from the top products in this field, but it is okay. An average day can be taken out without a problem.

    Picture and sound

We wouldn’t say the device got the best display globally, but there can be no particular complaint about the 14-inch Full HD resolution used here. Its colors are beautiful, the viewing angle is good, and we didn’t run into the clouds caused by the uneven distribution of the backlight.

No disturbing anomalies were observed during the motion display, and although the maximum image refresh rate is only 60 Hz, more would not be needed here. The relatively weak iron would not be able to push more frames per second anyway. HDR materials can be forgotten, and the maximum brightness is only 284 nit, making them unsuitable for outdoor use, at least during the day.

    Available in several colors

We didn’t fall on our stomachs from the built-in speakers, as the volume isn’t too high, plus there are minor issues with clarity, accuracy, and aspect ratio. Basses, for example, have to be abandoned entirely, which is still tolerable when playing and filming but makes listening to music impossible. But luckily, this can be easily remedied with a Bluetooth speaker or headphones.

    On Scale

The 2021 version of the Acer Swift 1 is far from a perfect laptop, but it shows in its price. And it’s also true that it does it smoothly for everyday use, so if you’re looking for an easy-to-carry, light,  slightly attention-grabbing, but not at all bazaar laptop for studying, office work, filming, we highly recommend it.

Like other high-end Dell laptops, you have Dell Cinema technology at your disposal, which, along with color, sound, and streaming, puts a severe triumvirate at your service. The number one participant in this technology is CinemaColor, which makes the display of the visual world as stunning as if reality were projected onto the image in front of you. With such advanced technical content, it’s no wonder the Inspiron 15 5000 family of models reveals the most profound spectrum of blacks and the most vibrant colors.

Next up is CinemaSound. Thanks to this, the audio experience already provides a studio-like sound world, in which the Waves MaxxAudio® Pro software played a significant role. And the line is closed by an instant streaming system called CinemaStream, nicknamed Killer Wireless. This allows your laptop to provide the highest possible bandwidth for videos and music to get smooth and consistent quality.

Plus, you almost really have a perfect wind-to-wind visual world. And you can enjoy the picture quality in Full HD resolution. Its great stylish look is further enhanced by the fact that it is only 22 mm thick, which improves portability and your success in your discussions due to its appearance.

The ultra-thin, 17.9-millimeter-thin EliteBook 840 is a hair lighter than a bottle of mineral water, weighing precisely 1.48 kilograms. This makes it an excellent choice if you travel often.

Nothing can bother you. You can hear your partners with the Bang & Olufsen sound system and HP Audio Boost. And HP Noise Cancellation noise cancellation software ensures that your voice is not disturbed by background noise, so your colleagues can listen to you. This is matched by the upward-facing speakers and the third microphone facing outwards.

An Intel® Core ™ i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and an ultra-fast 512GB SSD have been added to the engine compartment, which is an experience to bombard with your commands. There’s no time to think here, and you can also say goodbye to your little hourglass if this machine splits under your hand.

In multitasking, you will be a level 2 user with that much memory, and any data processing takes place in a fraction of a moment. It also has corporate docking features. • Laptop screens will get a new sort of display

Laptop screens will get a new sort of display

In addition, the type of display on laptops is becoming increasingly crucial, as Samsung is well aware. They also see mass manufacturing for him: higher-quality OLED-type displays will appear, with Asus being the first to order them.

Samsung stated that it would follow through on its pledge of mass manufacture of 90 Hz displays. Due to the increase in the typical 60 Hz refresh rate to 90 Hz, the information presented on OLED displays will be more beautiful and vibrant. The image will look smoother throughout all types of motion, such as gaming or video.

Samsung attributes the increase in output to a home office and home learning, which has grown much more prevalent during the coronavirus outbreak. Many people converted to notebook computers and spent more time in front of the computer during the pandemic.

The new OLED panels will be accessible in Asus laptops for the first time: the Asus Zenbook 14X and the 14-inch Vivobook Pro will be available. The cost of the models is determined by the equipment used. The minimum amount is $1399. Two more devices from the Taiwanese company will be released in the fourth quarter, but the exact dates are unknown.

According to The Verge, Lenovo and Asus make OLED notebooks, and Samsung makes these panels. Lenovo will release the IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon in October, including a 90 Hz OLED screen. The business says that this laptop will be the lightest 14-inch OLED laptop, weighing only 2.37 kg.

  • Alan Walker Special Edition released for the Zephyrus G14

Alan Walker Special Edition released for the Zephyrus G14

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is a viral machine because it has a compact, restrained gamer design and powerful hardware.

The manufacturer has worked with the famous DJ a few times, and another example is the newly announced Zephyrus G14 Alan Walker Special Edition.

ASUS says the machine combines Alan Walker’s unique style with the practicality and power that gamers and content manufacturers need. The laptop comes with individual elements, and in addition to the unique packaging, it comes with a mini music set.

The laptop comes with an 8-core Ryzen 9 5900HS processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card, different from the G14 already on the market. The Zephyrus G14 AW SE AniMe Matrix is available with a back cover in Spectre Blue hue, which this machine owns.

It also comes with an add-on called ROG Remix, allowing users to make 18 types of Alan Walker sounds.

  • The all-in-one – Introducing the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16

The all-in-one – Introducing the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16

In May, ASUS announced the ROG Zephyrus M16 and S17 gamer laptops, which are already machines based on the new Tiger Lake-H processors. Even then, it was felt that the Taiwanese manufacturer was preparing for a massive launch with these models. But what makes these machines so unique?

If I can use a strange analogy, it reminded me of the M16 that it is exactly like the machine gun of the same name, which, in a somewhat simplified way, solves all your problems in times of war. Well, the Zephyrus M16 does the same because although the acronym ROG in its name suggests that it is primarily a gamer machine, it can be deployed on many fronts and performs excellently due to its extra features.

ASUS engineers were exposed to this by pushing this 16-inch machine into a 15-inch housing, the frame of the Zephyrus G15, which meant that the display of the Zephyrus M16 became increasingly widespread 16:10 aspect ratio. On the other hand, the coffees around the display are virtually gone, with 94% of the top being provided by the screen itself. Nevertheless, somehow even the built-in webcam was solved, which is already a brilliant performance, especially since it is a 2-megapixel piece. And then we weren’t talking about what the display itself knows!

The model we had was WQHD (2560×1600) with 165Hz image refresh and Adaptive-Sync, which is more than adequate for gaming. But not only for gaming, as the panel is Pantone certified and has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. It is also perfectly suitable for video cropping and image editing tasks. The brightness of the display is also good. Even in bright sunlight, everything can be easily seen on it, so it is not a problem to use it while traveling.

In this respect, the Zephyrus M16 is a real all-rounder, which is already radiated by its design. The existence of a Gamer machine has a relatively clean, elegant design, RGB colors do not flash on it everywhere, and the aluminum frame gives it seriousness, so no one will be surprised by it, even if we come up with it a meeting. Of course, the nicely rounded curves and the matte black color are tossed up a bit so that the machine’s lid iridesces in the rainy color in the perforated part as we move, but just enough to keep the taste within limits.

The M16 isn’t one of the lighter pieces in its category anyway with its 2kg weight, which is understandable, as here we get a more prominent display in return. Of course, it’s still plenty in the comfortably portable category. The keyboard is enjoyable to use. The size and layout of the keys are also excellent. The critical path is also pleasant, so it recommends more extended typing. The touchpad is responsive and the correct size. If we had a complaint, it would just be that the cover of the inside quickly collects the fingerprints. We got ourselves on it more than necessary to remove the stains and smudges from it.

Compared to its size, the Zephyrus M16 has been thoroughly ported, especially if we add that no connection could be made to the rear, as it is entirely occupied by the thermal conduits of the Arc Flow fans. However, on the left, a Thunderbolt 4 and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (that is, USB-C charging is supported), a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, an HDMI, a gigabit Ethernet connector, and a jack for headphones is located. At the same time, on the right, you will also find a USB 3.2 Gen 1 USB and a microSD card reader, which can come in handy for the image and video editing jobs already mentioned.

What will give the machine a breath, because it has impressive power. As mentioned, it features a 45-watt Tiger Lake-H CPU, of which a Core i9-11900H (2.5 GHz) ticked in our model, an RTX 3070, 16GB of DDR4 RAM (expandable to 48GB), and an A 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD drive was provided. The already mentioned ventilation outlets and liquid metal cooling are also suitable for such performance. Of course, the machine still heats up at maximum load, but I think we can forgive him for that.

Because the Zephyrus M16 doesn’t deliver anything! With Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Ultra settings, it knew 44 fps at 1600p, so the Viking adventure looked fantastic on it. The previous act, Odyssey, wasn’t ashamed either, as (Ultra, 1080p) the machine squeezed 59 fps out of it, and the GTA 5 didn’t even tickle it: At very high settings and 1080p resolution, the average was 86 fps. I want to emphasize that the sound of the machine is delightful, which is ensured by the six speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Okay, good, the bass could be a little flattering on it, but anyway, the M16 is a delightful experience even for listening to music.

And suppose we’ve talked about video editing capabilities above. In that case, it’s also worth remembering that the M16 transcodes 4K videos to 1080p in a matter of minutes, making it far superior in its category, even though it’s not the fastest data transfer SSD (567 Mbps) spinning in it.

The battery is quite suitable for this, it can be used for about 6 hours with intensive use, but as a great solution in Armory Crate, we can manually set (or automatically entrust it to the machine) whether the M16 uses an Intel GPU or RTX card so, for example, if you’re going to be in an office for which the Intel graphics unit is enough, you can extend the uptime thoroughly.

Depending on the equipment, the Zephyrus M16 will be available for about 2,220 USD to 3,500 USD sometime from the end of the summer.
