AI-Powered Avatars: TikTok’s Latest Feature in the Works

TikTok could soon be inundated with AI-generated photos if the platform rolls out its new feature, which is currently in the testing phase.

According to The Verge, the upcoming TikTok feature will allow users to create avatars of themselves using AI technology. The platform’s built-in AI tool will prompt users to upload 3-10 photos and select 2-5 preferred styles for the AI-generated image. The platform will then create the images, which can be downloaded, set as an avatar, or shared as part of a user’s stories with a slight delay.

TikTok has not yet responded to The Verge’s inquiry, so it remains unclear when the new feature, which is currently being tested, will be released to the wider audience.

The AI-generated images created by TikTok are reportedly quite similar to those produced by Lensa, a recently popular photo editing application.
