  • An important update is coming for the iPhone 13

An important update is coming for the iPhone 13

Apple has announced an update that will allow the iPhone 13’s FaceID to be used even if its phone is replaced at an unofficial service center.

Apple is notoriously reluctant to repair its products by a third-party service center. To ensure that device owners are unwilling to use the service in such a location, the company faces various obstacles to “unauthorized” product” repairs. It’s no It’serent with the iPhone 13.

As early as the end of September, the company pointed out that if someone doesn’t have the iPhone 13’s dis13’sa repaired at an official service center, it could say goodbye to using FaceID. Even if they are replaced with one from another iPhone, the sensor will not work if the same panel is not on the front of the phone.

    iFixit

All this is because the company has built a microcontroller in the display, so the face recognition sensor cannot work in its absence. The lack of a chip can be avoided in software, but Apple’s Apple’szed partners have only received the program that can be used for this. All of this has outraged many users – and repair contractors – so much that Apple is now forced to blow a retreat.

The company is The Verge unto told to provide a software update for the phones, which bypass the use of the microcontroller so that the future will be a smooth operation of the facet display after a possible replacement. The Cupertino company did not say when this could happen.

  • Google explains why the fingerprint reader of Pixel 6 mobiles is slow

Google explains why the fingerprint reader of Pixel 6 mobiles is slow

Based on the news published so far, it may seem that the global tech press, and with them, are running some expiration campaign against the recently unveiled Pixel 6 mobiles.

Of course, this is out of the question, but unfortunately, no matter how many times Google’s news comes into the spotlight, it’s almost always due to something wrong or something that bothers users. For example, many people think that the fingerprint reader of the devices does its job very slowly. Fortunately, the search giant has an explanation for the phenomenon.

In case you might not know, the Google Pixel and Pixel 6 Pro have an optical biometric sensor mounted under the display, which has been receiving a lot of criticism on the internet lately. Complaining users say the gadget is slow and unreliable, but Google says it’s out of the question.

    https://twitter.com/ianxcom1/status/1457040921107877898

The company shared an announcement on an official Twitter account called Made by Google that the phenomenon is driven by improved security algorithms that could extend users’ fingerprint authentication. In other words, different security results in more symbolic execution, at least according to Google.

The share also includes a link to a support page that you can click to access a guide. This allows users to ensure the optimal operation of their fingerprint reader. Incidentally, the fingerprint readers of the Google Pixel 6 smartphones have also received some unwanted attention.

It has recently been revealed that these modules are tied to the motherboard of the devices, which makes it much more difficult to make repairs related to the screen.

  • A Pac-Man themed mobile is coming

A Pac-Man themed mobile is coming

OnePlus has previously released unique versions of its high-end devices. For the first time, it could happen for the first time with a mid-range smartphone, recalling the atmosphere of a popular retro game, Pac-Man.

There was so much rumor that OnePlus would launch a Pac-Man-themed phone that the manufacturer itself eventually went ahead of the words and “announced” the device, albeit in a somewhat weird way. He shared the information on the OnePlus forum but did not show any phone pictures.

    © OnePlus

However, he revealed that he slapped a new logo on the current device and changed it on several levels. Above all, the device itself comes with a redesigned, double-film back cover. Phosphorescent ink is applied to the innermost foil, allowing the device to glow in the dark, showcasing a maze inspired by the classic game.

The next level is software. Pac-Man Edition brings several refinements and changes to OxygenOS (new video game-inspired icons, custom static and dynamic wallpapers, custom animations, and even special camera filters). In addition, games, challenges, and plenty of exclusive (and hidden) Pac-Man content have been added to the device software. However, it is unknown whether Android 11 or Android 12 will be the base.

OnePlus has not been talkative about the inside world, so there are only guesses for now. For example, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G will be included, although some swear by the MediaTek Deminsity1200. But what everyone agrees on is 12GB of RAM and 256GB of native storage. Hear more about the 90 Hz AMOLED display, 50 MP rear camera, and 65 W fast charging technology.

The limited-edition phone will only be available in the European and Indian markets. It is not yet known when (a famous tipster swears by the date of November 15), but OnePlus offers the opportunity to get it for free, to be more precise. Pac-Man can be played on this site, and if someone gets a high enough score, they can take part in a raffle. Those who do not win will not be left without a chance, and an early access code will be drawn between them.

The price of the limited series phone is 529 euros (which corresponds to about 598 dollars). For comparison only, the “standard” 12GB / 256GB OnePlus Nord 2 is priced at €499.

  • Samsung is making a 5-nanometer entry-level chip

    Samsung is making a 5-nanometer entry-level chip

Samsung’s first 5-nanometer chip was the upper-to-mid-range Exynos 1080, followed soon after by the Exynos 2100, and much cheaper mobile hardware with the same bandwidth may quickly arrive from the manufacturer.

The news source is Ice Universe, which has proven its reliability countless times, so you probably aren’t mistaken right now. It is rumored that the new chip will be named Exynos 1280, and although there is no specific specification for the chip’s processor and graphics composition yet, the hardware under development may be a weaker solution compared to the Exynos 1080, even if its numbering suggests otherwise. The Exynos 1080 will deploy four Cortex-A78 and also four Cortex-A55 cores, as well as a Mali G78 MP10 graphics controller.

If the chipset debuts, you can also get the title of the first entry-level chipset with a bandwidth of 5 nanometers. There is currently no shortage of mid-range solutions with this technology, like the already mentioned Exynos 1080 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G. Still, the 5-nanometer technology is not yet available for cheaper devices. If these recent announcements are not wrong, this unfortunate condition could soon change, as the Exynos 1280 will be unveiled on November 10th. Since Samsung manufactures them, it is not yet confident that they will be the first to use the chip. For example, the Exynos 1080 will only work on Vivo smartphones.

Incidentally, Ice Universe has previously announced that the South Korean manufacturer will introduce three brand new chipsets this year, one of which will be the Exynos 2200 with AMD graphics module. If the other trio member is the Exynos 1280, it could quickly be unveiled that some mid-range construction will be unveiled later this year.

  • MIUI 13 to launch before the end of the year

MIUI 13 to launch before the end of the year

Xiaomi founder Lei Jun, the largest and most popular community site in China, Weibo, recently took the opportunity to say a few words about MIUI 13.

He claims that the interface comes with many changes that will drastically affect the user experience, and he also confirmed that we don’t have to wait long for the software to come out.

The first man in the Chinese company confirmed that the new version of the software would debut before the end of the year.

Of course, the performance for the Chinese market will be released first, and the international edition will be available a few weeks after that. Lei Jun also praised the current system, i.e., MIUI 12.5, emphasizing its battery-related optimizations that allow the Redmi Note 11 Pro, for example, to have excellent uptime.

Rumor has it that the revamped user interface will include several performances and uptime improvements in addition to the updated design. The interface will be introduced on devices running Android 11 and 12.

  • We now know when the Samsung Galaxy S22 pre-order and release dates

We now know when the Samsung Galaxy S22 pre-order and release dates

There’s already a lot to know about the Galaxy S22 mobiles, and now it’s finally revealed when pre-ordering for the news will begin. This is undoubtedly the same as the date of the presentation anyway.

According to one of the leaks, pre-ordering of the Galaxy S22 series will start on February 8. Based on previous years’ experience, this will happen immediately after the presentation, so there will probably be an official unveiling on this day. You won’t have to wait long for the actual appearance after that. From February 18, the new top models will be on the shelves of the stores.

This, by the way, coincides with another previous news that the next big Samsung Unpacked event will be unveiled in early February, where the Galaxy S22 mobiles will be revealed.

We expect three handsets, the 6.06-inch S22 and the 6.55-inch S22 +, to have a completely flat display surrounded by a uniformly thin bezel, making both phones more compact than their predecessors. And the S22 Ultra gets a different design, much more like a Note mobile with its angular design and the S Pen, which will have its place in the house.

Here, the creation of the cameras will also change, while the back of the two smaller models will be almost the same as the previous generation. At the same time, the Ultra will not have a protruding camera island, but the sensors will be located separately, at least according to the latest information.

  • This chip will be the most powerful in upcoming android phones in 2022

This chip will be the most powerful in upcoming android phones in 2022

According to the latest information, Qualcomm may present its latest mobile chip a few days earlier than usual, intended for high-end phones.

We’ve gotten used to Qualcomm holding its annual Snapdragon Tech Summit in the early days of December, where the main star is the current Snapdragon mobile processor. It is already official that the Snapdragon Summit will be from November 30 to December 2. As in previous years, the San Diego chipmaker will present its 2021 most powerful mobile chip on the first day, even in November. The chipset was previously referred to as the Snapdragon 895. However, it will almost certainly get the number 898.

    © Qualcomm

The chipset is manufactured using Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing process. It will use a three-cluster architecture, just like its predecessor. The ARM Cortex-X2 super large core clock reaches 3 GHz. The three Cortex-A710 ticks at 2.5 GHz, while the four energy-efficient cores tick at 1.79 GHz. The graphics card will be an Adreno 730, and the new Snapdragon X65 5G modem will also have space on the chip.

Improvements are also expected in ISP and DSP. Qualcomm is also likely to introduce a new artificial intelligence coprocessor to determine when to increase the clock signal and idle the cores to preserve battery life. According to preliminary measurements, the Snapdragon 898 will perform about 20 percent more than the Snapdragon 888.

    © GizmoChina

Understandably, smartphone manufacturers are waiting to jump on the new chip. Xiaomi and Motorola may be the first two OEMs to incorporate this chip into their novelties. Still, Vivo is also among the first, especially since Geekech’s list previously showed a chipset in a Vivo prototype device. We can also expect that some of the Samsung Galaxy S22s that will appear in early 2022 (supposedly in the first days of February) will also be powered by this chipset.

In addition to the prominent star of the Snapdragon show, we’ll also get a glimpse of Qualcomm’s next-generation chipsets that will power the notebooks anyway.

  • Some essential elements of a Snapdragon 898-powered smartphone are revealed in a photo

Some essential elements of a Snapdragon 898-powered smartphone are revealed in a photo

For the time being, we don’t know what Qualcomm’s next high-end chip will be called; most rumors point to the Snapdragon 898 referring to the SM8450, but the Snapdragon 895 has also been discussed.

If all goes well, the successor to the Snapdragon 888 will be presented in December, and until then, a slew of speculations and leaks concerning the chipset will surface. For example, a device with this chip in its soul has been photographed, and the snapshot confirms some preliminary information.

A photo of a Snapdragon 898 smartphone wouldn’t tell much, but this unknown device was recently photographed with an app named Device Info HW on the screen, which shows some chipset statistics. Based on the Cortex-X2, the central core runs at 3.0 GHz, with three Cortex-A710-based, 2.5 GHz CPUs and four energy-saving Cortex-A510 cores running at 1.79 GHz. These figures match earlier leaks, indicating that the tip masters aren’t only talking to themselves.

It’s unclear how much the Adreno 730 GPU will boost performance. Still, on the one hand, architectural enhancements will be made, and on the other hand, Samsung’s 4-nanometer manufacturing method will help accelerate the process. According to speculations, the new Adreno 660 will have a 20% boost over the existing Adreno 660.

Despite the lack of information in this image, the chipset has an X65 5G modem with a theoretical download speed of 10 Gbps.

The only question is what kind of device is visible in the image. It may be a Qualcomm test gadget that will never see the light of day – though they aren’t lovely – or the Vivo smartphone that was recently tested and powered by this chip. Some speculate that the smartphone in the image is a prototype for the Xiaomi 12.

  • The top ranking of the best camera phones has been updated

The top ranking of the best camera phones has been updated

The DxOMark team, which specializes in camera testing, has put the Pixel 6 Pro’s photography and video capabilities to the test, and predictably, the phone scored a good score.

So far, it’s one of the greatest. We’ll show you the most up-to-date top ten lists for the event! The Pixel 6 Pro received 135 points for its rear-facing cameras, which placed the phone in the upper echelon, although not a new high.

    [ads1]

The Huawei P50 Pro still holds the record. However, it is only available in China for the time being. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is not far behind.

The Pixel 6 Pro, according to the DxOMark test, produces incredibly detailed photos and videos both indoors and outdoors. Colors are true to life, shadows are finely contrasted, autofocus is quick and reliable, and zoom shots are sufficiently clear. They also commended the videos’ stability and the wide variety of dynamics.

Low light noise, background blur due to a limited depth of field, and the ultra-wide camera’s angle of view are not as comprehensive as other mobiles are among the drawbacks. The complete evaluation can be found in English here.

Anyway, there are several excellent articles and movies on the camera capabilities of Pixel 6 mobiles, and it’s worth checking out another test on the phone. It is preferable if you do not decide purely based on the number of pages on one page.

  • The Xiaomi 12 may be the first to receive the Snapdragon 898

The Xiaomi 12 may be the first to receive the Snapdragon 898

Not so surprising, but it looks like, again, Xiaomi will be the first manufacturer to use Qualcomm’s current state-of-the-art hardware.

The well-known leak,  Digital Chat Station, says the Xiaomi 12 will be the first phone that Snapdragon 898 works with, if only it would be the chip’s last name at all. Anyway, Motorola is also in competition, they can introduce a device with the same hardware before the end of the year, but Xiaomi is said to be a little faster.

Xiaomi and Qualcomm have had a good relationship for a long time, with new Snapdragon chips debuting in the Chinesemanufacturer’ss phones in previous years, respectively, and not just in the high-end category.

The Snapdragon 898, by the way, recently dropped a Geébench result that could be about 15% faster than the 888. Of course, it was probably just a prototype, and the hardware is still under development.

The Xiaomi 12 has little to know about anything other than the processor yet, but they’re still talking about a 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display and a 120W fast charge. It is also possible thatSamsung’ss 200 MP camera sensor, ISOCELL HP1, will make its debut in this, although it may also be the privilege of the Ultra model.

  • How loyal are iPhone and Android users?

How loyal are iPhone and Android users?

The fact that a manufacturer sells a lot of smartphones in a given period is not enough in itself. Real success is when customers are so satisfied that they stick to the brand in the future.

Once someone buys an iPhone, they will most likely stick with the Apple brand – this was revealed, and not for the first time, in a recent survey by CIRP (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners).

According to CIRP data, Apple’s so-called loyalty rate, i.e., the percentage of customers who buy an iPhone and who also had an iPhone as their previous smartphone, is stable at 90 percent – and this has been the case for the past three years. However, brand loyalty from android manufacturers is probably not as high because it is easier to change brands within the Android ecosystem.

Overall loyalty of Android users is also about 90 percent.

    © CIRP

It’s always been hard for Apple to steal Android customers (and vice versa), and that trend doesn’t seem to have changed this year either.

Android smartphones have the highest loyalty to Samsung, with about two-thirds of South Korean manufacturers buying handsets just before having another Samsung phone. Samsung has therefore retained its users. However, the commitment to Motorola and LG handsets has been on a declining trend since the year ending September 2019.

The CIRP report also reveals that the iPhone has accounted for 43 percent of U.S. smartphone sales in the past three years. Samsung, in second place, can claim 31 percent of sales.

  • Leaked: Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra posing for photos

Leaked: Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra posing for photos

Some recent photos leaked showing the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra have been revealed. The pictures show a powerfully powered device on Galaxy Note models, plus it even got the S Pen.

The debut of Samsung Galaxy S22 mobiles is getting closer and closer, so obviously, various leaks and rumors about the devices are coming more and more frequently. Thanks to Front Page Tech, now-looking real-world images have been released showing the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (or a mobile prototype). The device’s design is very similar to the previous renders that were recently unveiled.

The similarity between the smartphone in the pictures and the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra can be seen. The curved display, the design itself, and of course, the S Pen make it clear that the manufacturer with this model wants to compensate those who mourn the Galaxy Note series.

For now, we can’t know for sure that the final design will be like this, but you can expect something similar.

Aside from the resemblance to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, it can’t be said that there will be revolutionary innovations in the look of the device. However, the design of the rear-facing cameras will change.

On the other hand, the camera kit can be precisely the same as the Galaxy S21 Ultra, consisting of a 108-megapixel primary, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto, and a 10-megapixel periscope module.

The front-facing camera still sits in a cutout, centered below the top frame, and the headphone output won’t return, presumably to the chagrin of many.

How do you like Galaxy S22 Ultra based on the pictures?

  • Google releases the Pixel 3 and 3XL models

Google releases the Pixel 3 and 3XL models

We can provide sad news for owners of Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL devices. The software update on smartphones will soon be discontinued entirely. The two devices debuted in October 2018, and then the search giant promised them three years of support, which is now over.

Although the Google Pixel 3 devices received the latest Android 12 operating system, the November security patch no longer reached them. The bazaar is permanently closed. Fortunately, there is also good news, as Google will provide one last update sometime in the first quarter of next year. Many bug fixes will be available in this, among many others.

Next up in line are the Pixel 3a and 3a XL models, which are guaranteed to receive security updates until May 2022. The focus is on the term “guaranteed,” the pair will probably still get one last update later in the day after the previous update in May.

Only those who have Pixel 6 and 6 Pro devices can be calm, the guaranteed significant version update is valid until October 2024, and they will receive security fixes even in October 2026.

Incidentally, the date of a mobile’s debut always refers to when it became available in the U.S. in the Google Store there. Unfortunately, starting somewhere later doesn’t extend the support period.
