In addition to the cosmetic renewal of Windows 11, one of the most anticipated developments was native support for Android applications, but this feature was unfortunately omitted from the first release.
Fortunately, what’s delayed doesn’t matter, so beta users can already take advantage of the option, although the list of officially available apps is still quite limited at the moment.
Initially, supply is pretty tight, with roughly 50 apps available in the app store for Windows 11, but keep in mind this is still just a beta version. We anticipate that there will be continued expansion, and later even the full range of the Amazon Appstore may be available to Windows users.
Fortunately, the possibilities are not exhausted now. APK files can also be installed via ADB, so almost anything can be run.
By the way, Microsoft’s announcement can be read here. What may be even more interesting is that Android apps are run by a completely new subsystem called “Windows Subsystem for Android.” It runs on the Linux kernel and uses the open-source release (AOSP) of version 11 of the Android system.
We don’t yet know exactly when the feature will be available to all Windows 11 users, but we can probably expect that in the next few months.
Samsung is also releasing a new Windows 11 device. However, it thinks its digital assistant is more appropriate for such a system than Microsoft’s.
Microsoft has its digital assistant, Cortana, which will also be at home on Windows 11 machines. However, suppose someone buys a Samsung-branded machine running Windows 11 in the future. In that case, they can even use Samsung’s assistant, Bixby, instead of Cortana – in any case, the South Korean manufacturer recommends this.
“For greater device mobility, Samsung has introduced the Bixby system on Windows for Galaxy Book users so they can communicate intuitively with their PC. With simple voice commands, they can search for files, open applications and settings, and even control devices in the ecosystem of their SmartThings-registered devices. To activate the Bixby on Windows function, say, “Hi Bixby” or press Ctrl + Shift + B or Fn + B,” Samsung said in a statement.
The company also notes that the Galaxy Book Pro 360 5G will be the first Samsung laptop to run Windows 11. And for those who have an older Galaxy Book model compatible with Windows 11, Samsung promises to upgrade to Windows 11 as soon as possible.
Microsoft has promised a fix, but it remains to be seen. With the release of Windows 11, AMD and Microsoft warned that a bug could cause computers with Ryzen processors to slow down if they upgraded to the new operating system.
The problem is noticeable: in some cases, the power loss can be as much as 10 to 15 percent for some games. Until the situation is resolved, AMD has suggested that anyone who knows should stay with the previous version of the software, i.e., version 10, because there are no such problems.
And Microsoft has promised to make the fix as soon as possible. The TechPowerUpjust drew your attention to this package has not yet appeared, but quite another. However, we do not want to install it since it only worsened the situation. The staff of the specialist portal also took measurements for this and concluded that.
It made task handling by the processor even slower.
The bug that needs to be fixed affects the cache, but there is another one: it can occur when handling processor cores, but the two manufacturers have not addressed this. However, there is not much to wait for either: the L3 cache delay is promised to be fixed by October 19, and the problem of handling the processor cores will be addressed through a driver that arrives on October 21.
Windows 11 usually perform better on the same hardware than its predecessor, provided it’s not some game.
Because Windows 11 takes better advantage of advanced processor features than Windows 10, it performs better on the same hardware in principle. However, a problem has been discovered that can unpleasantly affect users who trust this higher performance and enjoy playing.
Independent benchmark developer UL Benchmarks, Computer Base, and PC Gamer have also noticed in their tests that VBS, which Microsoft intends to release next year, could cause a 25 to 30 percent decline in performance in PC games.
And VBS is needed because, in Microsoft’s words, it uses hardware virtualization features to create and separate a secure region of memory from the standard operating system. Windows can use this “virtual safe mode” to store several security solutions, significantly increasing protection against operating system vulnerabilities and preventing the use of malicious attacks that try to overcome the protection.
By the way, VBS is a feature that is primarily intended for corporate customers so that their work PCs are not compromised. Although VBS is integrated into Windows 10, it is disabled by default, meaning that if someone upgrades from Windows 10 to Windows 11, they don’t have to worry about VBS being enabled unless you’ve run the enterprise version of the older operating system.
The problem occurs when someone receives/buys a machine with an OEM version of Windows 11 installed because, with Windows 11, Microsoft would officially work with the vendors to get VBS active at the factory.
It also follows from the above that there may be differences in different measurements, depending on how Windows 11 is installed and whether VBS is enabled. That is why UL Benchmarks has promised to update PCMark or 3DMark with a routine that detects whether VBS is active or inactive and informs the user.
Of course, the best thing to do, though, would be for Microsoft to slightly optimize this security feature to make it worthwhile for gamers to use Windows 11 as well.
You can go to a site or forum where the code for determining the visitor’s IP address is set. For example, to a particular Yandex page or the smart-ip.net website.
You can search for other sites that specify the IP address of your computer by typing a query like “what is the IP address of this site” into the search bar.
Method 1. Find out the IP in properties of the Network connection.
The IP address can be viewed in the properties of your Internet connection. For Windows XP, 7, 8, and 10, you need to do the following:
Open Start-> Control Panel-> Network Connections .
Find a shortcut to connect to the Internet and double-click on it.
In the window that opens, go to the second tab,” Information.”
Method 2. Determine the IP of the computer using the Windows /ipconfig command
As part of the Windows operating system, there is a service (command) ipconfig, which defines the settings for the IP protocol. Using this command, you can also find out your IP address. For this:
Click on Start-> Run
In the “Open: “field of the appeared window, write cmd and press Enter :
In the seemed to be black window, type in ipconfig and press Enter again:
If your computer is connected to the Internet via a local network, like mine, your IP address will match the address of the default gateway (the last line in the results window).
If the computer has a direct connection to the Internet, its IP address will appear in the second line of the results of the ipconfig command (opposite the “IP address” parameter)
What are Static and Dynamic IP Addresses?
The IP address can be permanent (static) or change every time you connect to the Internet (dynamic IP). It depends on your provider. As a rule, the address of a computer on the Internet changes every time you connect with a specific range of free IP addresses that the provider has at the time of your connection to it.
By itself, if you have not disconnected from the Internet and do not use a proxy server, the computer’s IP address cannot change.
You can determine whether you have a static IP address or a dynamic one either empirically, disconnecting and connecting to the Internet and determining the IP after each connection, or by calling your provider’s technical support and asking about it.
Many providers have an additional service if you need a permanent IP, usually paid.
According to his colleagues, Jobs was surrounded by a natural force field, his faith in his ideas could not be shaken by anyone and nothing. It is also due to this that the company, which has become a garage company, has generated billions in revenue in a few years.
Ten years ago, on October 5, 2011, Steve Jobs, founder and president of Apple, one of the most prominent figures in the technology industry, died.
Steven Paul Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco. His German mother in Switzerland and his father in Syria were graduating students, so they adopted their children. Jobs only got to know his blood parents as adults. Paul and Clara Jobs raised the boy in Mountain View, which had just become known as Silicon Valley because countless semiconductor manufacturers and IT companies had set foot here. The school was boring, he did not respect authority, but he passed the exams excellently. On the weekends, he and his father, like the engineers in the area, worked enthusiastically on their gadgets in the garage. At the age of 13, he met one of the most important characters in his life, 18-year-old electronics genius Stephen “Woz” Wozniak, with whom he later founded Apple.
After high school, he became a student at Reed College, but only for half a year because he was more interested in Eastern philosophy, the fruit diet, and LSD. He moved to a hippie commune in Oregon for a few months, where he was primarily engaged in apple growing. When he returned to California, he was employed by video game maker Atari. He traveled to India “seeking enlightenment” from his salary but returned disappointed.
Jobs contacted Wozniak, who designed his computer and suggested starting a joint venture. Apple was registered in the garage of the Jobs family’s Cupertino house on April 1, 1976, and the company’s imposing headquarters are still in that city today. The Apple I computers they assembled were offered for $ 666.66, for which they now pay an astronomical price. Wozniak soon began working on a new design machine with a color display targeting the consumer market. Jobs managed to raise $ 250,000 in capital for the project from Mike Markkula, who retired from Intel as a millionaire at the age of 32, so they could introduce the Apple II in April 1977. The first commercially successful computer was manufactured until 1993, with the help of which generations became acquainted with the basics of computer technology.
Jobs listed Apple on December 12, 1980, and after the move, his fortune rose to over $ 200 million. The company’s president was seduced by Pepsi-Cola CEO John Sculley in 1983, who, according to legend, was convinced by Jobs with the question, “Do you want to sell sugary water for the rest of your life?”. The company’s revenue has grown from $ 800 million to $ 8 billion over the next decade. The lion’s share of the Macintosh launched in 1984, which greeted the excited audience in its voice at the show, and the event has since been referred to as the archetype of ‘event marketing.’ The Macintosh was the first computer for home use to have a graphical user interface controlled with a mouse and pre-installed a word processor and drawing program.
The conflict between visionary Jobs and handsome businessman Sculley ultimately escalated by 1985, and Jobs was forced to leave the company he founded. In 1986, he acquired a majority stake in Pixar, a computer graphics company he developed into a major animation studio. Pixar made the first fully computer-animated film, Toy Story, in 1995. Jobs was a billionaire after a share issue that year. The expensive workstations of his company, founded as NeXT Computer, did not live up to their promise, but it did lead him back to Apple.
Apple, struggling with increasing difficulties after his departure, looked for a new operating system after Microsoft Windows 95 and opted for NeXT software. The company was bought for $ 400 million, and Jobs took back the lead in 1997. With hard work, he rebuilt the company, which came up with a series of products that experts considered fantasy magic, but were a resounding success and later imitated by everyone. According to his colleagues, Jobs was surrounded by a natural force field, his faith in his instinctive ideas could not be shaken.
The music player iPod debuted in 2001, along with Apple’s online music store, and in 2006 a portable MacBook with desktop computer knowledge was launched. The following year saw the first and still most popular smartphone, the iPhone, reshaping the telecommunications market. The device was also capable of playing music and browsing the Internet. Developers could write programs on it – the iPhone still accounts for much of the revenue from the company, which has since changed its name to Apple Inc. “Big brother,” the iPad tablet, was released in 2010. Apple’s system is closed, its products offer the perfect combination of hardware and software, and in addition to their quality, they are also known for their school-creating designs. The black-turtled Jobs, referred to as the guru, introduced the news himself every year, leaving the most significant bang to the end,
In 2003, he was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer but stubbornly refused all medical treatment, preferring to try an alternative diet. It was too late by the time he set out for the surgeries. He went on sick leave in January 2011, resigned as CEO in August, and died on October 5, 2011, two months later.
Apple has soared under Tim Cook over the past decade, surpassing $1 trillion in 2018 and $2 trillion last year, making it the most valuable company globally.
More helpful information became well-known before the release of Windows 11 on October 5; UL, the developer of 3DMark measurement software, said a security feature in the operating system could dramatically reduce FPS by as much as a quarter, according to PC Gamer measurements.
Virtualization-based security (VBS) is responsible for the problem, and when it is turned on, the operating system stores some of its processes in a highly protected area of memory. This can make it massively harder for malware to disable certain security features and exploit vulnerabilities that sound in them, which sounds great.
However, VBS is a nightmare for gamers, and even when using processors officially supported by Windows 11, gaming performance can be disrupted. Unsupported CPUs may have a minus even more remarkable because they do not yet include Mode Based Execution Control (MBEC). The PC Gamer tested more games is a modern percussion and desktop computer on and off VBS-sel, measured after activation decreases performance:
Far Cry New Dawn: 5%,
Horizon Zero Dawn: 25%,
Metro Exodus: 24%,
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: 28%,
3DMark Time Spy synthetic measurement: 10%.
Virtualization-based security isn’t new, it’s actually available in Windows 10, but it’s inactive at the factory for the lion’s share of users and is usually only enabled on computers in government agencies and companies. The easiest way to enter your configuration page is to look for Core Isolation in Windows Explorer, set in the Memory Integrity section.
According to Microsoft, whoever upgrades from Windows 10 to Windows 11 will not have VBS enabled. Still, the company intends to activate it later in as many configurations as possible over the next year. The more you install Windows 11, the more theoretically it will be active at the factory. The same can apply to at least some of the computers that come preinstalled with the system.
We’re only days away from the release of Windows 11, but according to a survey by savings.com, more users aren’t aware that they can get a new version of Windows as a free upgrade. The study also highlights other curiosities.
Microsoft’s new operating system, Windows 11, which has several great features, will be officially available from October 5 . Due to the upcoming date, savings.com has asked more than a thousand U.S. Windows users how interested they are in the new software. The representative survey was conducted on September 17 online. What is more eloquent, however, is what results have come out.
As the portal highlighted, barely 40 percent of users knew that a new version of Windows would be released and that it would be available soon. In this regard, the older, those over 55, were more informed, while only 28 percent of the younger generation (18 to 24) said they knew about the arrival of the 11th edition.
Forty-five percent of users surveyed said they had not yet decided whether to install the new system. And two out of three users could not tell if their computer met the hardware requirements of Microsoft at all. Research has also found that the younger ones are the ones who would instead try the new system. The older ones are more cautious and wait for the time being.
According to the survey, 52 percent of users would switch because Windows 11 looks better than Windows 10. And 14 percent of those surveyed because Android apps will also be available on PCs with this software version.
A few days and Windows 11 will be released to a broader audience (Windows Insider members have enjoyed the benefits of the new operating system since July). Epic Games Store.
It has been known that the Amazon app store will also be added to the MS Store after the OS update, but the release of EGS is fresh news. The decision is that Windows wants to create an open store on an open platform.
Windows 11 will be available for download on October 5, but the Amazon app store and EGS will be stuffed into the Microsoft Store in a few months. With the help of Amazon, you can now download Android apps through the MS Store.
Windows 11 brings a variety of innovations and convenience features, which you can read more about here. From a gaming point of view, the most important technological achievement is that with the help of Windows 11, we can already run games on a less powerful machine if they are available through the Game Pass.
If you still don’t want to upgrade to Windows 11, you don’t have to worry. On the one hand, your machines will not automatically upgrade to the new OS. Microsoft will scan each active Windows 10 hardware, and creditworthy devices will receive a free license to upgrade.
It was recently revealed that new assets would be given priority in this order. Still, all purchases will be updated by next summer at the latest, provided the owner so wishes.
Microsoft has fixed and released an application that will tell you if your computer running Windows 10 can be upgraded to Windows 11 shortly.

In a week and a half, the top-to-bottom operating system, Windows 11, will replace Windows 10 and be introduced on October 5. This system will be presented on new devices, and existing Windows 10 machines will be updated promptly. Unfortunately, not all machines because Windows 11 is highly picky about hardware.
Of course, how would a user know whether or not his computer was running the new OS? Microsoft was well aware that a so-called PC Health Check program was created months ago to assist users in determining whether their current Windows 10 system could be updated to Windows 11? This application is quite helpful. Let’s not forget that Microsoft has briefly pulled it in response to reasonable complaints, promising to correct it and re-release it later.
The Redmond behemoth has also kept its word, updating the app to include more information about upgrading to Windows 11 and discussing why your computer might not be able to handle the new operating system.
A 64-bit CPU with at least two cores and a 1 GHz speed, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage is required for Windows 11. There’s also the TPM 2.0 feature, which, if supported, must be enabled via BIOS settings. Other requirements exist. However, devices capable of meeting the conditions above are likely to do so.
Microsoft has become more lenient in CPUs, and we may now upgrade to Windows 11 using old Ryzen processors. The scenario will be different if someone utilizes an earlier processor. Windows 11 is not supported by the sixth-generation Core.
While some may attempt to change the file on the installation disk, Microsoft has warned that doing so may result in system performance and user experience issues. Furthermore, data gathered as part of the Windows Insider program raises dramatically the risk of “Blue Screen of Death” issues on PCs with unsupported hardware.
But you don’t have to worry about all of this since the application (which can be downloaded from the Microsoft Windows 11 information page if you scroll down) takes care of it: it determines whether your computer can run Windows 11. XDA Developershave already published a comprehensive list of compatible devices.
Of course, it’s hardly a catastrophe, even if someone’s machine cannot run Windows 11. Windows 10 is also a solid operating system, and many new devices will ship with Windows 11 preinstalled.
One of the big numbers in the current console generation is the DualSense controller, which simulates the resistance of weapons or ground conditions with its adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
The Xbox Series X / S game controller doesn’t have such extras ( but they can still be! ), But it does have many other good things, such as easy switching between devices. Well, this feature is extended to a couple of other Xbox gamepads.
We reported on it as early as September that Xbox Insiders have received a firmware update that will also give Xbox One controllers with Bluetooth, the Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, and Xbox Adaptive Controllers the “double-tap” feature.
Demo of the new “double tap to switch devices” feature in action.
Making it easy to switch between the devices you play Xbox on: console, PC, mobile, etc. pic.twitter.com/4F6zT1Wwao
We can see this now in action, courtesy of Xbox specialist James Shields, who revealed in a video that yes, it works with an Xbox One game controller as well. You can simply quickly double-tap the “pairing” button on the back of the gamepad to return to the previous device and from there to the newly connected machine in a similar way.
This way, you can easily switch between your PC and Xbox, but you can even switch from mobile to PC or console. The procedure was a little more playful in the past, so now, this double-tap will come in handy.
The feature is officially called Bluetooth Low Energy, by the way, and it also works with Windows 10 PCs and Apple devices over iOS 15 in addition to Android phones and Xbox.
Another significant achievement of the firmware update will be Dynamic Latency Input, i.e., DLI, which will significantly shorten these controllers’ signal response delay time, i.e., the other mentioned game controllers will be more responsive, like the Xbox Series X / S.
Microsoft has not announced when this update is available to the general public, but we will probably receive it during the fall.
Most competently, Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 will not support computers running the Apple M1 processor. Of course, there is virtualization, but the result can be doubtful.
When Apple launched the MacBook M1, users were very interested in whether Apple supported installing Windows 10. The answer was that it depended on Microsoft. Microsoft then partnered with virtual machine provider Parallels to provide the “Windows 10 on ARM” experience.
By now, however, the situation has changed. Microsoft is no longer working with Parallels Desk, cooling the enthusiasm of those who thought that, like Windows 10, they would be able to run Windows 11 on an M1 machine. This, in turn, – said a Microsoft spokesman in The Register’s – scenarios are not supported for the new system (as it runs directly on hardware nor the operating system).
So all these means is that while it’s still impossible to run Windows 11 on M1 machines with a virtualization solution, it’s essential to understand the importance of Microsoft’s warning. This can be inconvenient for virtual machine users if Microsoft does not provide technical support.
For example, the Windows 11 Developer Channel has recently received news about hardware compatibility issues on M1 Macs. Although Parallels has been able to update its software (to version 17.0.1) and the problem has been resolved, it is possible that a future scenario will not improve so quickly. It’s not out of the question that Microsoft will make changes to the operating system at any time in the future that make this virtualization completely impossible, so users who have paid for virtualization software will be left to fend for themselves.
Windows maker Microsoft made it possible for business users to sign in to accounts created on their system in various methods earlier this year. This is now available to everyone.
Non-traditional login alternatives are available for many online services. Instead of typing a password, users log in to their accounts using some form of authentication, such as an application.
[ads1]
According to Engadget, Microsoft is a strong proponent of this system: the first such solutions were released at the start of the year, but only for business clients. However, in the following weeks, it has been decided to make this option available to everyone.
Regular users can now request that their Microsoft account be password-free and sign in to alternatives (owned by the corporation) such as Microsoft Authenticator, Windows Hello, or SMS / email due to the changes. Code has been sent. Microsoft reports the method.
It will also work for apps used regularly, such as Outlook or OneDrive.
To join Microsoft’s password-free world, users must first download the company’s Authenticator software (Android version here, iOS version here), which must then be linked to an existing and regularly used Microsoft account. After that, you can disable the password prompt in your account settings.
(The procedure can be reversed at any time.)Microsoft stressed that while valid passwords alone are considered exceptionally secure, alternative sign-in methods have a slightly more significant advantage and are more convenient.
